Below you will find the detailed description of the offered Automotive Technology training modules.

C1A

Automotive Technology:

This is a hand on training on updated cars of BMW and VW cars. Doing tests, diagnosis and fault finding by yourself. Also you will disassemble and assemble a complete engine by checking the components on function and wear and tear. The same you will do on manual and automatic transmission and at the break system. Select tools and learn the use of special tools. Learn to work as a mechatronic-mechanic on cars.

Electro Mobility and Hybrid Technology

High Voltage

  • Electro technical Basics
  • Alternative  concepts as EV, Plug in, Hybrid, Fuel Cell
  • High Voltage Concepts and vehicle technology
  • Layout, Function and operation of HV vehicles
  • Electrical dangers and First aid and General Safety rules
  • Responsibility of a trained person
  • Definition of “HV self-securing vehicle”
  • Practical approach when working on HV self-securing vehicles and systems
  • Practical exercises and demonstrations

Hybrid Systems

  • Parallel and serial hybrid systems
  • Batteries: types and layouts
  • Used types of electro motors
  • Control ECU of the hybrid traction chain, sensors and actors
  • Operational strategies
  • Troubleshooting

Aim:
By means of this training the participant will be enabled to work on self-securing hybrid vehicles respecting the safety standards. He knows the function of a hybrid traction chain and is able to effect a purpose-oriented troubleshooting and repair.

Automatic Gearboxes

Content:

  • Mechanical basics, planet gears
  • Layouts
  • Task and function of the torque converter
  • Hydraulics in automatic gearboxes
  • Transmission fluids and their specifications
  • Electronics: Control ECU, actuators and sensors
  • Maintenance
  • Understanding and verifying customer complaints
  • Troubleshooting using Live data/parameters and fault codes
  • Possibilities of pressure checks, Stall test
  • Testing on a bench
  • Disassembly, check of components and reassembly
  • Repair and overhaul and respecting the procedures at repair/reassembly
  • Spare and wear parts

Aim:
By means of this training the participant will be enabled to know components and functions of an automatic gearbox, recognize malfunctions and do the necessary tests and repairs.
